After ignoring (for a very long time) a request to state my views on the up-coming election, I finally caved in and posted this:

"This upcoming national election has me very concerned on so many levels. Voting for someone just because he advocates "change" can be dangerous as there is no guarantee that those changes will be what is right and responsible for our country. And, voting for someone because he's a more comfortable choice is also risky.

Most people know that I'm rather conservative: close our borders, deport the illegals, pay down the national debt, build up the military, stay out of my doctor's office, and no free ride for anyone when it comes to medical care, financial assistance, education, etc.

Paying for free health care, free education, free housing, free, free, free everything for those who won't work for them, just gets me riled. I feel that the "changes" that need to be implemented first are those basic values of hard work and honest living. Period."

(I thought my response was fairly generic. I had no idea the folks on that forum were so very, very liberal!!! And it was not a political type forum - just a chatty forum.)

I held off on giving my views but the folks there really wanted to hear what I thought. So..... And the rest is history...

It sounds like what would happen if you said that in Democratic Underground, or Daily Kos.
